Where we'll be
Andalusia in early February: orange trees heavy on every street, jacaranda not yet out, and the city still to itself before spring brings the crowds.

Getting There
Flying, or the long way round
There are no nonstop flights from the US to Seville — everyone connects once, through a European hub. Madrid is the fastest and most frequent connection, and it comes with a useful alternative: you can take the train instead of a second flight.
About 10 hours
The quickest routing is JFK or Newark to Madrid, then a short hop to Seville — roughly 10 hours door to door with a tight connection. Iberia and American run it as one ticket.
Also served via Lisbon (TAP), Paris (Air France), London (British Airways), Dublin (Aer Lingus) and Casablanca.About 14 hours
Iberia flies LAX to Madrid nonstop, around 11h 10m, departing early evening. Connect onward to Seville for roughly 14 hours total.
Dublin on Aer Lingus is a close second at about 14h 20m, and clears US customs on the way home.Madrid, then the train
Rather than a second flight, take the AVE from Madrid: 2h 30m nonstop, 15–20 departures a day, and it puts you in the centre of Seville rather than out at the airport.
Renfe, Iryo and Ouigo all run it. Allow about 45 minutes to get from the airport to the station.Six miles
Seville's airport sits about six miles (10 km) from the centre, and there's no train or metro link. The EA bus runs every 25–30 minutes to Santa Justa station and Plaza de Armas, and takes 35–50 minutes.

February in Seville averages about 66°F (19°C) by day and 45°F (7°C) at night — warm in the sun, genuinely cold once it goes down. It's also one of the wetter months, with rain on roughly a third of days.

The old city is compact and largely pedestrian, which is the easiest way to get between most things.

Things people ask
Do I need to come for all three days?
No! Come for whatever you can — just let us know whether or not we can expect you ahead of time.
Are children welcome?
They are welcome, but please note that most events happen in the evening, and in venues without high chairs.
Is there a gift registry?
No — there's no registry, and please don't bring gifts. Ten years in, we have the things we need. Crossing an ocean to be there is the gift.
I have a dietary requirement — where do I say so?
There's a field for it on the RSVP form. Anything you tell us there reaches the caterers.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
It's always welcome and appreciated, but the hotel speaks English.
